MOORLANDS IS BACK

A NEW CHOICE FOR 11 YEAR OLDS IN LUTON - ADMISSION TO YEAR 7 IN SEPTEMBER 2021

WELCOME

As parents, if you are anything like me, you want simple things for your child. You want them to succeed academically, grow in self-confidence, develop their talents and discover new interests. You want them to have had a breadth of experience, to be culturally aware, and to be prepared for the world beyond school. You want them to leave as young people you can be proud of with a set of friends for life. Above all you want them to be happy and fulfilled.

At Moorlands, we want the same, for each and every one of our pupils. However, we are much better defined by people than buildings; above all, we pride ourselves on being a close and supportive community where all are cared for, and all can thrive. I hope you find what you are looking for at Moorlands.

I am confident you will.

OUR PLANS

As a result of demand from parents, we are offering a brand-new choice for pupils leaving primary school this coming summer and moving into Secondary Education in September 2021. We are therefore resurrecting the Moorlands name for this new venture. ‘Moorlands’ is the trade-marked name we used between 1926 and 2011 and which still has a resonance in the Luton community in the field of private education.

SCHOOLS TODAY ARE TOO BIG

Today, some educationalists believe that a good number of secondary schools are far too big to deal personally with pupils on a one-to-one basis in small classes - many secondary schools are well over a thousand pupils, with a prediction that in the future, new ‘supersize’ schools of up to 3000 pupils may become the trend. Many pupils leave their primary schools and find themselves lost in the crowd.

WHAT WE STAND FOR - WHAT WE OFFER:

  • A traditional education centred around small classes and individual attention, in a secure environment with an emphasis on good behaviour, family values and pupil well-being.
  • An approach geared to achieving a career in the professions via a good university, once pupils have completed their school education. Many young people today end up disillusioned, having been led into degrees in non-academic subjects that rarely lead to sustainable, well paid careers.
  • High educational standards, with a curricular approach that is partnered with national, international and local business institutions. Affordable school fees that are half the national average.
