The world is changing fast and is transforming our lives at an ever-quickening pace. Even today, raw academic skills alone are not enough to enable pupils to succeed in life, and this will be even more so in tomorrow’s world. It is therefore essential that children are taught a range of Life Skills at an early age, to give them the tools and techniques to successfully cope with the challenges and obstacles they will inevitably encounter in life.
These tools will help in developing children’s character, self-confidence, self-reliance, self reflection, determination and sense of fair play. They include skills such as public speaking, leadership skills, analytical skills, time management, critical thinking, social skills, as well as an underpinning knowledge about finance, foreign languages and cultures, current affairs and our own institutions.
Outdoor Education is another important ingredient in developing life skills. Children take part in team working activities and challenges, orienteering and navigation, survival and bush-craft at our Outdoor Education Centre and on organised trips.
