Leadership skills are a vital ingredient in the formula for success. Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft, has defined leadership as, “the capacity to translate vision into reality and the ability to carry others with you”.
We aim to help pupils develop these skills, to understand their strengths and weaknesses, communicate information and ideas, build and mend relationships, develop problem solving skills and work successfully as part of team.
Pupils are encouraged and given opportunities to take on responsibility and leadership roles. This might be through the elected School Council, the school magazine, or as a Class Monitor, Junior or Senior Prefect or House Captain. Every year at Prize Giving a Head Boy and Head Girl are appointed.
Becoming role models for younger pupils is also a vitally important part of taking on leadership roles.
